Welcome to 1027 (Jarrow) Squadron

Since 1941, 1027 (Jarrow) Squadron as a part of the Air Training Corps has been developing young people. Supported by the Royal Air Force, we offer unique opportunities at little or no cost. A uniformed organisation with military values and ties, we aim to instil a sense of self discipline and develop leadership, teamwork and initiative.

Piloting an aircraft, becoming a marksman shooter, gaining your Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, attending overseas camp in Cyprus or Germany, travelling the country and attending expeditions in rough terrain. All of this, plus more, is within any Cadets sights.

A Cadet can rise through the rank structure, gaining invaluable leadership and teamwork skills as well as life long friends and knowledge that you wouldn’t get anywhere else. If you’re wondering what Cadet life is like, view some of our Cadet profiles to find examples of what they have achieved.
