About Us

We are part of the Air Training Corps (ATC), a uniformed organisation based on and supported by the Royal Air Force. The ATC offers unique opportunities for people aged 12 to 20 and with almost 40,000 Cadets, it’s one of the country’s largest youth organisations.

Since 1941, 1027 Squadron has been training generation after generation of young people for military and civilian life. ATC Cadets hold a reputation of being self-disciplined, skilled team players.

Piloting an aircraft, becoming a marksman shooter, gaining your Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award, attending overseas camp in Cyprus or Germany, travelling the country and attending expeditions in rough terrain. All of this, plus more, is within any Cadets sights.
